Frequently Asked Questions
Arcadia is a fee-only Registered Investment Advisory Firm. Essentially, this means we don't get paid for selling products, on commission, or by transaction fees. Our only source of revenue comes directly from our clients on an ongoing basis. The objectivity and transparency of the fee-only model allows Arcadia to create financial plans and manage investment portfolios with the client's goals and objectives first and foremost. This means our clients can trust in the fact that we work with their best interest in mind. In fact, fee-only Registered Investment Advisory Firms have a fiduciary duty, or legal obligation, to place the needs of our clients first.
We begin a relationship with our clients by first working with them to completely understand their current situation, as well as their goals and objectives. Whether it is planning for retirement or college for a loved one, it is vital for us to know our client's timeline and purpose for their investment goals.
Arcadia is pleased to work with our clients' advisors to ensure that we all fully understand your goals and objectives and to make sure that we are all working together to meet those in the most efficient manner possible. We strive to build a strong relationship with each of your advisors so that they can benefit from our expertise and we can benefit from theirs as well.
Our fee is calculated as a percentage of overall assets managed and is billed in arrears each quarter. Typically, our fee is automatically deducted directly from the clients' investment account(s) under our management. Our fee includes any retirement/financial planning services needed.
No. As a fee-only registered investment advisory firm, our only source of revenue comes directly from our clients.
In addition to managing your investment portfolio, we provide retirement and financial planning services including analysis and input regarding your other assets, debt structure, insurance coverage and other financial decisions you will be making over time. Our goal, just like the business CFO, is to help you maximize your after-tax net worth.
Certainly. We can set up separate account(s) for the assets we manage, so you can continue to manage the assets you choose.
Our custodian, Charles Schwab, will send out a Form 1099 for each taxable account, as needed, for the preparation of tax returns. We are here to help with this process if needed.
